Different ways to install Linux

I have seen you recommending linux a lot. I personally have used wsl but I believe you meant Linux as a standalone OS rather than an integrated in Windows. So should I go for dual boot or only have Linux as a single OS? I also heard we can have docker file for Linux so we wouldn't need virtual machine. Can you please make a video on this
